Richard Boer's vineyard in the middle of the Chalone appellation of Monterey County has provided fruit for Sandler since 2010. It is always among the first vineyards Sandler brings in each summer, but in 2023, we didn't get to pick the Pinot and Grenache until October 3. A normal Boer harvest starts in the last week of August or right around Labor Day. With the later vintage, we saw slightly lower brix and higher acidity. The wine was fermented with 100% whole clusters, which adds tannin and ageability to the wine. Enjoy this through 2035.
